PILL MUSIC FESTIVAL – 25-29 MARCH

Originating in 2009 due to the enthusiasm and drive of Chris Roach, Pill Music Festival has become another successful event in the village calendar.

There has been a gap of several years since the last one, however the good news is that Pill Music Festival is going ahead again this year at various venues around the village, featuring a host of quality local talent.

  • Wednesday 25 March – Pill Festival Band
  • Thursday 26 March – An evening of various and varied local Ukelele bands; ‘Pauline’s Pluckers’, ‘The Rhynes’ and from Bath the ‘The Mother Pluckers’ at Pill Community Centre.
  • Friday 27 March – Gordano Folk Club, a wide range of folk music from some of the best local amateur performers.
  • Saturday 28 March – Various music workshops during the day, aimed at encouraging anyone to start or continue learning to play or sing. Also, performances in the afternoon and early evening from Pill Community Choir and the village acapela group ‘The Mudlarks’ , and from 8pm at the Memorial Club The Bee Gees tribute act.
  • Sunday 29 March – Churches together at the Memorial Club followed by ‘Jazz in the afternoon’ at Lodway Cricket with ‘Afterhours’ and friends.

Most events will be free entry or run at cost (except for The Bee Gees, which is £8, and the workshops), with any money raised going to encourage and support, through the Festival Band, the teaching and playing of music by youngsters in the village.  Look out for more details around the village, on Facebook and the Festival Band website, also on the Parish Council website.
