At the Parish Council meeting on Monday 24th February, the consultation process on the proposed Portishead Branch Line (MetroWest Phase 1) Order was discussed. The Parish Council believes that the railway is an important development for the village and our community, and will affect us all in many ways.
In order that you can make your views about the proposals known, it is absolutely vital that you register individually via the Inspectorate website:-
Registration will entitle you to keep up to date with developments and also contribute your comments and observations. It is especially important that you do this as a matter of urgency, as the closing date for registration is Wednesday 26th February 2020.
PLEASE REGISTER NOW, AND URGE EVERYONE ELSE YOU MEET IN THE NEXT 48 HOURS TO DO THE SAME.
It is your chance to keep in touch with the biggest development that our village has experienced.
Under the “Your representation” section you don’t need to write a lot. You simply need to give some indication of what you will want to express at greater length at a later stage. This might be that you:
- are fully behind the project and hope it proceeds as quickly as possible
- want to see the railway built but are concerned about the possible impact on wildlife of some aspects of the construction phase – for example, the use of land at Lodway Farm for a compound, given the use of the land by many creatures, including amphibians
- are worried about the traffic generated by the construction phase and want to see plans that minimise its impact on both the village (of Pill) and other roads locally
The above is not our advice about what you should write, it’s simply an example of how that section of the form could be completed.
